Much of its glorious architecture dates from the end of the 17th century. The medieval city of Bhaktapur is known as the third city in the Kathmandu valley, after Kathmandu itself, and Patan. It is a half-hour taxi drive from downtown Kathmandu and a living gem of Hindu temples, pagodas, palaces and ancient monuments, some dating back to the 16th century.

Bodhnath: Bouddhanath Stupa, the biggest stupa in Nepal, lies about 7 km east of the capital. The Bouddhanath stupa, also called by many as Khasti Chitya, is one of the oldest stupas in the country. Pashupatinath: Pashupatinath Temple, with its astonishing architectural beauty, stands as a symbol of faith, religion, culture and tradition. Regarded as the most sacred temple of Hindu Lord Shiva in the world, Pashupatinath Temple's existence dates back to 400 A.D. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga or phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world come to pay homage to this temple, that is also known as 'The Temple of Living Beings'.

Durbar Square: It is the historic seat of royalty. The Durbar square, with its old temples and palaces, epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people. The Chaitya which forms the main structure is made of a solid hemisphere of brich and clay supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper gift. Painted on the four-sides of the spire bases are the all- seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is three kilometers west of Kathmandu city, and is situated on a hillock about 77m above the level of the Valley. The hills ls is a mosaic of small Chaityas and pagoda temple.

Chitwan National Park: At the lodge, the Jungle Guide will brief you on Asia's biggest game reserve. O/nt at lodge. Jungle activities in Chitwan National Park.
