Adventure in Bhutan

Comprising three tiers from the sub-tropical to the temperate and the alpine, each distinguished by their rich eco-systems, there is no dearth of adventure here.
Whether it is to share wonderful moments with farmers and herders, study unique and even endangered plants, birds and animals or test ones walking prowess, there is something for everyone. The trails are devoid of litter, the eco-species strongly protected, and the people charming and friendly.

Dagala Thousand Lake

It is a 6-day trek near Thimphu, to a large number of lovely high altitude lakes. The trek is easy and most trekking days are short but there are some long steep climbs. It is not a very popular trek. It starts from Khoma (near Thimphu) and ends in Simtokha.

Druk Path

Druk Path Trek: It is a 5-day trek, and goes to a high altitude and is moderately strenuous. The trek route passes through some beautiful high altitude lakes. It starts in Paro and ends in Thimphu. It is a popular Bhutan trek route.

Jumolhari Trek

This is a classic 9-day trek starting from (Drukgyal Dzong) Paro and ending at Dodena near Thimphu . The route passes through two high passes from Jangothang.

Laya Gasa Trek

This trek is the combination of Jumolhari and the Laya Gasa treks and ranks as one of the finest trek. It begins from Paro in the west and follows the old trade rout to Tibet and then makes northward through the secluded valleys of Lingshi & Chebisa and the beautiful Laya. After Laya the trek turns southward to Gasa, where the natural hot spring is a great treat and finally the trek ends in Punakha after passing through semitropical forests. The highlight of this trek is the camping at the base of beautiful peaks such as Jumolhari, Tsherim Gang, Jichu Drake, Great Tiger Mountain(Gang Chen Ta) and several other peaks.

Gangtey Trek

Your Guide from Bhutan Yak Adventure Travel will receive you at the airport and drive you the short distance to the hotel. After Tea, drive to the ruins of the Drukgyal Dzong 16 km up the valley built in 1647 by the great Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, father and unifier of medieval Bhutan, the dzong was destroyed by accidental fire and left in ruins as an evocative reminder of the great victories it was built to commemorate.

Snow Man Trek

This is a cultural trek passing through the villages of Punakha & Wangdi region. As the name indicates, this trek is best done from late autumn and through the winter and offers opportunity to visit villages, farms, temple & nature.
